Rest is productive. Start and continue from rest and not towards it.
At the start of March 2021, I decided to challenge myself by converting a passion that started 30 years ago into reality. I have had a massive support and backing from my tribe, both old and new – to them I was born to do this. Yes, helping people to untangle the webs they find themselves in, be it woven by them, society or their loved ones is something I love to do. Transformational Leadership Coaching and work in Social Entrepreneurship is second nature to me yet it was all a lavish dream until a dear friend asked me to produce a business plan after a series of conversations.
So now there is a business plan (a 2-page draft), a cohort of cheerleaders, then building a website is suggested by Peter Dickinson (he drew the awesome willow tree you see on the Akaseni Consulting website and is the same person who asked for the business plan).
I laughed sheepishly and muttered to myself, “all you have to do is start Barbara”. So I took a step. It was one of faith filled with excitement, joy, love, a resilient spirit, fearlessness, what ifs, and whys however I certainly knew that it was time to swing wider than I have ever done.
After lots of work in writing the content for the website, emails, calls and discussions with my tribe, there is now a website as part of the birth of Akaseni Consulting.
A name was needed, then came Akaseni (check out what that is all about in The Akaseni Logo blog). Akaseni Consulting is also home to all who walk in. in this home, there will be shared responsibilities. I believe we are called to unearth all of who we are; some people find that easier than others and that is okay. We will walk with you through the various spheres you find yourself; I am excited and thankful about this path for those who are already home, those returning and to new tribe members. There is room for everyone so stop by when you need a place to rest and call home.
It is truly going to take a village to raise up this child, Akaseni Consulting. So, all hands-on deck, let’s share the exciting news of the birth of Barbara’s baby! she’s always wanted to be a mother and now she is!
